Therapeutic Drug Testing (TDM)
Therapeutic Drug Testing (TDM) is a clinical laboratory process used to measure specific drug concentrations in a patient’s blood to ensure that the medication is within the therapeutic range—high enough to be effective, but low enough to avoid toxicity, and to ensure patient compliance with the prescribed treatment plan. Some of the most monitored drugs are Antiepileptics, Antibiotics, Cardiac and Psychotropics.
